There are moments in life that quietly change everything.
For me, it began with my skin.
Throughout my teens and twenties, I experienced painful cystic acne that affected far more than my complexion. It impacted my confidence and my wellbeing.
That experience taught me something I have never forgotten. Healthy skin isn't achieved by constantly correcting it.
It flourishes when it is supported, nourished and respected.
Discovering the Power of Nature
As I began learning about essential oils and botanical ingredients during my early twenties, I discovered a world where nature and science work together rather than against each other.
I worked for Against The Grain Health in my later twenties and this is where I learned how to make balm. I fell in love with the process and working with precious oils and beeswax.
To me, skincare became less about chasing perfection and more about giving the skin exactly what it needs to thrive.
Motherhood Changed Everything
When I became a mother and entered into my 30's, my standards became even higher. After experiencing huge changes in my body and my skin, I needed to create a product for myself that delivered exceptional performance and purity. And I wanted to make my own.
Every Ingredient mattered. Sea Buckthorn, Kakadu Plum, Manuka Beeswax, Frankincense, Chamomile and Rosehip weren't simply beautiful ingredients, they were naturally rich in antioxidants, vitamins, essential fatty acids and bioactive compounds capable of supporting healthy skin.
I became fascinated by creating formulations that strengthened the skin barrier and worked with the skin's natural biology.
Motherhood reminded me that simplicity is powerful. Some of the most effective skincare doesn't rely on complexity, it relies on thoughtfully selected ingredients of the highest quality.
This philosophy inspired Beauty Balm and Baby Balm.
Building a Dream
Starting Kiah hasn't been the easiest path.
Like many small business owners, this brand has been built one step at a time. Between motherhood, work and late nights researching ingredients, testing formulations and refining every detail, there were plenty of moments where the dream felt bigger than my circumstances.
But I also knew that if I didn't try, I'd always wonder what could have been.
Every label, every photograph, every product and every word on this website has been created with intention.
